The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in driving revenue growth through inside channels. This position focuses on managing smaller and undercapitalized accounts, supporting product launches, enabling quoting and pricing, collaborating with external sales and distributors, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. The role contributes directly to volume and margin growth by maximizing inside sales opportunities and supporting the broader commercial team.

 

 

Individual Tasks:

 

  • Execute inside sales activities aligned to commercial goals: customer segmentation, prioritization of inbound vs. outbound opportunities, growth of existing accounts, cross/upsell, and new customer acquisition via inside channels.
  • Manage customer interactions via phone, email, and web: respond to inquiries, sample requests, quotes, and contracts in a timely manner; coordinate with external sales and internal teams.
  • Support product launches: communicate value propositions, pricing, and collateral to customers; collaborate with product management and R&D.
  • Collaborate with sales, product management, and technical teams: share market and customer intelligence, support strategic accounts, and contribute to territory/segment plans.
  • Track and report personal performance: sales KPIs (revenue, margin, lead conversion, pipeline), customer satisfaction, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain CRM discipline: update pipeline data, ensure accuracy of customer information, and use CRM tools to manage opportunities effectively.

Responsible for:

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of small and mid-sized customer accounts across designated market segments.
  • Generating revenue and margin growth through inside sales activities, including account development, cross-selling, upselling, and new customer acquisition.
  • Preparing and managing quotations, pricing requests, contracts, and sales documentation.
  • Supporting the successful launch of new products by communicating product value propositions and coordinating customer engagement activities.
  • Maintaining accurate customer, opportunity, and pipeline information within the CRM system.
  • Providing timely responses to customer inquiries, technical requests, and commercial issues.
  • Collaborating with external sales representatives, distributors, product management, customer service, supply chain, and technical teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring sales performance metrics and identifying opportunities to improve sales effectiveness and customer engagement.
  • Supporting commercial initiatives and strategic growth plans within assigned territories or product lines.

 

Required professional background & qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Typically 2–6 years of inside sales or commercial experience.

Experience in chemical or specialty chemical industry preferred.

Demonstrated track record of achieving inside-sales targets, managing quoting/order pipelines, and contributing to process improvements.

 

Required languages:

English: Required (fluent – written and verbal), as this is the primary language for business operations, documentation, and cross‑functional communication.

 

Required Knowledge:

  • Understanding of sales processes, customer relationship management, and account development strategies.
  • Knowledge of pricing principles, quoting processes, and commercial negotiation practices.
  • Understanding of chemical industry products, applications, markets, and customers preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service best practices and customer engagement techniques.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain, order fulfillment, and inventory management processes.
  • Knowledge of sales analytics, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Understanding of market trends, competitive dynamics, and business development opportunities.
  • Familiarity with compliance, safety, and ethical business practices.

Required Tool Know How:

  • Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP CRM, or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms for order and customer management.
  • Microsoft Office Suite:
  • Excel (data analysis, reporting, pricing tools)
