Procurement Manager

Main tasks and objectives:
In case of people leadership please also specify leadership task (team, span of control, special leadership requirements)
•    Fully represents the interest and benefit of Helm AG’s operations in Asia for Crop Solutions
•    Develop the indent purchases on behalf of Helm AG and other Helm companies.
•    Develop cooperations with new suppliers and or new products sourced from Asia
Individual tasks:
General
•    Respect Chinese laws and Helm Reglement.
•    Dedicate full time work capability exclusively in favor of Helm AG’s Chinese operations
Market monitor
•    Systematically maintain/improve Helm’s knowledge of current products and understanding of the local market.
•    Monitor the market and propose new opportunities to our EU’s overseas.
•    Expand the network of suppliers with Helm and promote the activities of Helm within the industry
Supplier management
•    Develop/execute performance review of suppliers with clear priority on producers.
•    Organize frequent supplier visits
•    Organize supplier selection as well as corrective action plans.
Purchase
•    Work pro-actively and closely with Helm colleagues to take advantage of any market opportunity.
•    In line with requirements of the EU create a procurement plan/strategy for procuring the product for the right time, place and price.
•    Support creative solutions as well as work on methods to protect the company for increased cost.
•    Monitor contract fulfillment and manage documentation
•    Avoid problems and solve them respectively if any.
Technical and registration support
•    Support patent status evaluation of new products
•    Help selected suppliers to communicate their requirements for scientific studies to the Labs
•    Guide selected supplier to prepare the regulatory documentation according to Helm’s requirements
•    Compile and share knowledge about new products in Asia
Communication
•    Closely work with colleagues overseas. 
 

Required Professional Background & Qualifications:  

•    Bachelor degree in Agrochemical, Crop Protection, Chemical or international trade.
•    Preferable 5-10 year experience  in the AG Chem industry 

Required Languages:    

•    Language Native Chinese speaker with fluent in English.

Required Knowledge:    

•    Basic knowledge of value chain of base chemicals
•    Business affinity with entrepreneurial mindset
•    Curious, pro-active and committed to learning
•    Good social and communication skills
•    Good industry and business acumen

Required Tool Know How:    

•    Familiar with Salesforce, OS365, (SAP)
