To strengthen our Chemicals Business Unit and expand our activities in the Italian market, we are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Business Manager - Italy (m/f/d).
In this role, you will drive the commercial success of our product portfolio in the Italian market. You will develop and execute growth strategies defined and agreed with the Director ICS Italy, manage key accounts and suppliers within Base Chemical Solutions, Industrial Chemical Solutions and Glycols, and guide sales activities in close collaboration with our Supply Chain, Product Management, and regional teams.
With your strong business acumen and market knowledge, you will play a key role in shaping HELM’s position in the Italian region.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a compelling growth strategy for HELM’s product portfolio in the Italian market.
- Build and expand strong relationships with suppliers, key accounts, and customers while leading impactful negotiations.
- Drive all commercial activities — from purchasing to sales — ensuring profitable and sustainable business development.
- Manage product allocation, pricing, and long/short positions with a strong focus on risk management and market dynamics.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain Management to ensure efficient, smooth end-to-end processes.
- Continuously deepen your market and product expertise and share insights with regional and global teams.
- Take ownership of forecasting, budgeting, and profitability steering for your portfolio.
- Support the development of a high‑performing team culture and coach junior colleagues or interns as needed.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and the overall Chemicals Business Unit strategy beyond your own product area.
Your profile:
- A background in business, chemistry, or a related field — or several years of relevant industry experience that equips you to thrive in a commercial environment.
- 8–10 years of hands‑on experience in sales, product management, or business development, ideally within the base chemicals value chain.
- A strong business mindset combined with curiosity, proactivity, and the drive to continuously learn and grow.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that help you build trustful relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Business‑fluent English and fluency in the local language (Italian), enabling you to connect effectively across markets and cultures.
- Confident using modern digital tools such as Salesforce, SAP, and O365 to support data‑driven decision‑making and efficient workflows.
