Logistics Manager

Main Tasks and objectives:
- Coordination and execution of daily logistical operations.
- - Make necessary ERP transactional inputs for shipments, delivery, expected costs, invoice approval and document retention.
- - Provide expertise internally and externally as needed along with market insight, pricing trends, and regulatory changes affecting commercial activities.
- - Maintain and audit processes used by HELM to meet or exceed existing requirements.
- - Maintain and foster good business relationships and partnerships with relative logistics service providers. - Responsible for adhering to and reporting quarterly spend for mode of transport.
- - Identify solutions that will meet or exceed internal/external customer expectations with the intent to make HELM’s logistical operations add value to our overall business.
- - Issue and escalate non conformances to logistics service providers.
- - Key contributor in continuous improvement activities to drive operations and cost efficiency.
Individual Tasks:
- - Responsible for obtaining, negotiating, and maintaining rates, contracts, tenders for specific mode of transport: domestic bulk tank truck, container/isotank lease and ocean freight, NVOCC, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and similar logistics services.
- - Coordinate with supply chain and offer assistance or expertise on inbound and outbound domestic and/or international containerized shipments.
- - Ensure proper spot truck rate requests process internally (training and guidance for SCOM team, freight matrix maintenance and ensuring cost efficiency).
- - Resolve all unexpected bulk tank truck, container, or isotank transportation-related issues in the logistics team, engaging the help of teammates where necessary.
- - Focus on long-term strategic sourcing and relationship management with logistics service providers. Ensure supplier qualifications are met and documented.
- - Strategic alignment with European Logistics Managers. - Track relevant metrics, and key performance indicators prescribed by the manager with a focus on identifying efficiencies.
- - Escalation contact for rate disputes and detention/demurrage claims, taking the lead to acquire all necessary information and resolve the issue.
Qualifications:
- Know how about chemical products, markets, applications & industries (preferred)
- Experience and competency in communicating to multiple levels of executive management- Experience in managing time sensitive problems with cost effective solutions
- Active communication and networking, team- & business-minded - Experience and interest in sustainability / marketing of bio-based products
- Salesforce
