VAT Specialist / VAT Expert (m/f/d)

We are looking for a VAT Specialist (m/f/d) to support European VAT compliance in an international business environment. This role focuses on hands‑on VAT reporting, audit support, and advisory input for domestic and cross‑border transactions, working closely with Finance and external tax advisors.

Your tasks:

• Prepare, review, and file VAT returns and related reconciliations for European jurisdictions
• Support VAT compliance activities, including registrations and reporting obligations
• Assist with VAT audits and act as a contact person for tax authority inquiries
• Provide VAT support to internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Sales, Procurement)
• Review business transactions and assess VAT implications, especially cross‑border
• Support VAT recovery, Intrastat activities, and reconciliations
• Assist with VAT‑related topics in ERP/finance systems and invoice processing
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors
• Contribute to VAT documentation, process improvements, and internal knowledge sharing

Your Profile:

• Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field
• Several years of experience in VAT compliance and advisory, ideally in an international context
• Strong knowledge of EU VAT and cross‑border transactions
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is an advantage
• Structured, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently
• Good professional English skills
