In the Supply Chain CE Marine Bulk department, we are responsible for the transport of liquid chemicals in tank containers, barges, and seagoing vessels, and handle tank management for numerous products.
For our location in Hamburg, we are looking for a Supply Chain Operations Manager (m/f/d) in the tank container area. Do you enjoy organizing transports and put service to customers and suppliers first?

Your tasks:
- In this function, communication with suppliers, warehouses, customers, and logistics service providers of HELM AG is your responsibility. You will also visit these partners on short business trips.
- You are responsible for the processing of global tank container transactions - import as well as export. The creation and dispatch of call-off confirmations to our customers, the call-off to our suppliers as well as the commissioning and monitoring of transports and stock levels are your main activities.
- You will be in constant contact with colleagues and will act as an interface to the Product Management of the Business Unit Chemicals as well as to the internal service departments.
- You will also oversee the tender process. This includes the preparation of tenders, benchmarks, or individual freight inquiries as well as the review of freight rates.
- Administrative activities such as the preparation and execution of monthly and annual financial statements or the processing of insurance claims, will also be handled by you.
- You are a team player and like to contribute to project work for the further development of the business unit.
Your profile:
- You have completed commercial or logistical apprenticeship with demonstrable experience in order and transport processing, ideally in the container sector.
- You have already acquired technical understanding and knowledge of transports by sea or inland vessels in a similar task. Ideally, you are familiar with the handling of dangerous goods.
- You have a fluent command of written and spoken English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage.
- You are proficient in common IT applications such as the MS Office package, ideally you have experience with SAP.
- In a team, you act as an open and team-oriented contact person. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and working on possible problems in a solution-oriented manner. In addition, you are flexible and can quickly adapt to new conditions.
