Business Unit:  Chemicals
Job Function:  Supply Chain Management / Logistics

The BCS Supply Chain Rail department manages the transport and supply chain planning of the European rail tank car network for our liquid and gaseous chemical products. In addition, we develop supply chain concepts based on rail transport, forming the basis of our business.

You like to coordinate and organise and put service for customers and suppliers first? Are you communicative, open for new challenges and prefer to work in a committed and highly motivated team? Then you're the right person for us!

We look forward to receiving your application if you have sound experience in the management of tank wagons in rail freight transport. A proactive way of working and the ability to coordinate complex logistics processes round off your profile.

Become part of our team and play an active role in shaping the future of rail transport!

Your tasks:

  • In this role, you will manage the incoming and systematic recording of damage reports for defect tank wagons in our leased fleet and will be responsible for coordinating and initiating repairs and, if necessary, cleaning in close consultation with wagon keepers and cleaning plants.
  • Coordinative activities will be a key part of your tasks, such as planning and optimising overhauls in consultation with the wagon keepers, negotiating cleaning conditions or booking transport orders for maintenance operations.
  • You will coordinate the functional activities that are important for processing business transactions and carry out all relevant activities as part of the month-end closing process. You will confidently process the receipt of an external complaint from a business partner (8-D report) or a complaint to a logistics service provider.
  • You will also be responsible for processing and approving incoming invoices for commissioned logistics services, maintaining wagon master data and managing rental contracts for rented tank wagons.
  • In your position, you constantly work in compliance with all relevant external regulations and laws, including dangerous goods, customs, foreign trade and taxes.
  • Sustainability in supply chains is important for you, so you always focus on a good balance between cost-conscious fleet management and ensuring the highest possible level of service for customers and suppliers.
  • In this context, you keep an eye on current market developments and form the communication interface to logistics partners, customers, wagon keepers, repair and cleaning centres.
  • Occasional visits to business partners to maintain relationships and improve cooperation round off your varied and responsible range of tasks.

Your profile:

  • You have completed a commercial or logistics apprenticeship and have demonstrable experience in order and transport processing.
  • A technical understanding is an advantage for this position, and ideally you will have experience in fleet or damaged vehicle management.
  • You are familiar with the handling of dangerous goods regulations, tax regulations and foreign trade standards and this forms an integral part of your expertise.
  • You are proficient in common IT applications, especially the MS Office package, and already have experience of working with SAP.
  • You are an open and team-orientated person in a team, and a service-oriented way of thinking is a central aspect of your way of working.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English complete your profile, as effective communication in both languages is an advantage for the successful completion of tasks.

Every day, each one of us contributes to HELM's success with competence, the highest expertise and unique service. We reward this commitment - not only with international opportunities, possibilities for seminars and further training but also with benefits that offer optimal conditions to reach the perfect work-life balance.
