For our Business Unit Chemicals, within the unit Base Chemical Solutions 2 Europe, we are looking for a motivated Product Manager - Ethanolamines (m/f/d) - limited for 2 years. In this role you will be part of a diverse team which operates in an international context within the European region. You will benefit from a structured onboarding process and a talent management program tailored to your individual needs.
You will be responsible for strong partnerships with our suppliers and selected key customers. Our business set-up requires constant optimization, risk management, and new ideas to continuously grow. You will be managing this business together with our colleagues from the local sales and supply chain teams.
You can expect a large degree of freedom in the way you do business. In order to be successful, you will get professional support from the colleagues of our service departments, from our local subsidiaries and from colleagues in Asia and the Americas for any import or exports.

Your tasks:
- Together with our sales and supply chain team, you will be responsible for the strategy and expansion of our distribution activities in Europe. This includes modeling and monitoring the purchasing & sales activities as well as gathering market intelligence.
- You will be responsible for individual supplier and customer accounts while being supported and decide on short and medium-term strategies including pricing. It may also include realizing export opportunities together with our colleagues in Asia and the Americas.
- In this context you act as a networker, observe market developments and trends, and align purchasing and sales decisions accordingly.
- Furthermore, you support the budgeting and strategy development process by preparing market and product specific analyses.
- Here, you will work together with your colleagues from Supply Chain Operations Management in the scheduling of purchases and sales, the optimization of our international value chains, and the stock planning.
- In addition, you will work in a support position together with other product managers in BCS 2 for tasks in the daily workflow.
Your profile:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or finished a comparable apprenticeship.
- You already gained first experience in the fields trading, procurement, marketing, or sales. Experience in the chemical industry is not a must.
- Moreover, you bring the proven capability to understand the resulting risks and opportunities from a portfolio of contracts and you have knowledge in negotiating purchase or sales contracts.
- In addition, you are a flexible person who can easily adapt to a changing environment.
- Different stakeholders consider you as a reliable and trustworthy partner. Here, you combine a distinct entrepreneurial mindset with a strong ability in making fast decisions.
- Approaching existing and new business contacts with an open mind, you have a team-oriented, responsible, and resilient personality.
- Fluent English is essential and in addition to that, you are familiar with common IT applications (MS Office, Salesforce, SAP S4).
