Director IT Operations (m/f/d)

As Director IT Operations (m/f/d), you will play a central role within HELM’s global IT organization. In this highly responsible position, you will lead the worldwide operation of our HELM IT infrastructure and ensure that our systems are stable, secure, and future-oriented.

You will actively contribute to the implementation of the global IT strategy and report directly to the CIO.

In this role, you will work closely with other departments and international teams and will significantly shape the technological development of the company.

Your Responsibilities:

• In this position, you will be responsible for the global management and ongoing development of the IT infrastructure and all associated workplace services.
• You will ensure the smooth operation of data centers, networks, servers, and end-user devices, maintaining high availability and adhering to stringent security standards.
• In addition, you will organize and supervise IT service management for various software solutions and hardware components. You will also be responsible for establishing and operating an effective global IT support as well as a robust and efficient IT security operation – including the selection, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate security tools.
• Furthermore, you will ensure GMP qualification of the deployed hardware and GMP compliance of the relevant software systems.
• You will coordinate international projects and programs of strategic importance, taking ownership from initial concept to successful implementation. In doing so, you act not only as an executor but also as a driver of innovation within the IT landscape.
• In this role, you will lead an international team of over 20 employees. In addition to technical and disciplinary leadership, you will actively support the professional and personal development of your team members.
• You will also manage close cooperation with external service providers and vendors. Throughout, you will monitor budget targets and ensure the efficient use of resources.

Your Profile:

• For this role, you can provide a university degree in (business) informatics, computer science, or a comparable qualification.
• You bring several years of leadership experience in managing complex IT infrastructures in an international environment and have successfully led larger teams.
• Moreover, you have in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, network and workplace architecture, IT security, and modern cloud solutions such as Microsoft 365.
• You have proven experience in managing international projects and programs and possess a strong sense for priorities, processes, and organizational structures.
• In this context, you are familiar with managing external vendors and contracts and have a solid understanding of supplier governance.
• Your working style is strategic, solution-oriented, and characterized by a hands-on mentality.
• You demonstrate a high level of intercultural competence and know how to lead, motivate, and develop teams across different cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both German and English complete your profile.
