Director Base Chemical Solutions Europe (m/f/d)

Within our Business Unit Chemicals, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on the role Director Base Chemicals Solutions Europe (m/f/d).

This important position holds full responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of HELMs European base chemical business and requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in leadership, management, and strategic business development.

Your tasks:

In this strategic leadership position, you put your entrepreneurial mindset into play across the following tasks:

• You are responsible for leading the overall European base chemical strategy, driving the development and implementation of product-specific strategies to achieve business objectives and market growth.
• Furthermore, you oversee the risk management processes within BCS, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively to safeguard the business.
• As Director Base Chemicals Solutions Europe (m/f/d), you provide leadership and development for the Heads of Base Chemical Strategy (BCS) and their respective teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and satisfaction.
• On this path you coach, train, and develop the team through effective goal setting, regular performance reviews, and constructive feedback sessions to ensure high levels of performance and professional growth. Especially in sessions with team members, you address individual needs with tailored development plans and create an excellent team atmosphere.
• Business Management and Analytics will also be a part of your role. Here, you promote a mindset of constant profit optimization, continuous long-term business development as well as a kpi-based planning & controlling across the team.
• You stimulate and enhance collaboration with peer units in sales and supply chain, fostering a unified approach to achieving business goals and improving operational efficiency.
• The supervision of strategic planning, budget and forecast of Base Chemicals Europe annual complete your area of responsibility. In addition, you ensure enlargement of business and profit optimization as well as excellent strategic relations with selected partners.

Your profile:

• You have a degree in business or economics (MBA, Bachelor, Master or similar). In addition, you also have at least 10 years of professional experience in chemical base products as well as extensive experience in the European chemicals market.
• You can possess proven leadership experience in managing and motivating teams within a dynamic environment. Here you can show a personality with an entrepreneurial mindset and you treat your team as if it was your own company.
• In addition, you have highly strategic development and implementation skills and can communicate complex matters in simple words. In this context, you are living an intercultural competence, produce solutions rather than problems and you are known for having grit.
• You are proficient in common IT applications in the context of project management (MS Office, ARIS). Ideally, you have knowledge and professional experience in the use of SAP, Salesforce or another ERP system.
• You are an organized, reliable, and trustful contact person in a team. You love to create a happy and high performing team and are also motivated to take on new challenges.

• Professional English skills complete your profile. Further language skills would also be an advantage.
