Corporate Accountant (m/f/d)

For our Corporate Accounting department based in our headquarter office in Hamburg, we are looking for a motivated Corporate Accountant (m/f/d).

As part of our Corporate Accounting team, you will play a key role in preparing the standalone financial statements of HELM AG. Depending on your qualifications and interests, you will have the opportunity to focus on specific areas of responsibility.

Your tasks:

• In this role, you’re the main point of contact for our internal departments when it comes to accounting-related processes. You handle the clarification of accounting issues and respond to auditor inquiries.
• You support the preparation of financial statements for the two largest domestic HELM companies in accordance with German commercial law (HGB) and assist in carrying out the statutory financial closing.
• You also take care of internal reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests from management, for example in the context of planned acquisitions.
• In your role, you continuously work on improving the monthly closing process and handle account reconciliations, including preparing data from our SAP S4/HANA system.
• You’re the contact person for external auditors and coordinate cross-company tasks with the tax department, treasury, IT, and controlling.
• Handling day-to-day accounting tasks, such as provisions and accruals, is also part of your responsibilities and completes your profile.

Your profile:

• You have a degree in business administration with a focus on accounting / controlling / finance or a comparable qualification and ideally already gained some professional experience or have completed an internship.
• You can demonstrate analytical thinking skills, an independent approach to work and the ability to work in a team. You are also able to work under pressure and have a high level of accuracy and diligence.
• You are also interested in further accounting topics and their implementation in practice.
• You are characterized by a high affinity for numbers and can apply them in common IT applications such as MS Office 365. In addition, you have already gained experience in working with SAP or another ERP system.
• Very good German as well as good written and spoken English skills complete your profile.
