In the Supply Chain Marine Bulk department, we are responsible for the transport of liquid chemicals in tank containers, barges and seagoing vessels, and also handle tank management for numerous products. For our location in Hamburg, we are looking for a motivated (Senior) Supply Chain Chartering Manager (m/f/d). 

 

You enjoy organizing shipments and put service to customers and suppliers first? You are communicative, open for new tasks and prefer to work in a committed and highly motivated team? Then you are the perfect fit for us!

 

Your tasks:

 

  • Your main tasks include the chartering of seagoing vessels and barges, the operational handling of transports, the annual negotiation of our CoAs and the review of Marine Terms. You are furthermore responsible for the vetting of our seagoing vessels for the entire HELM.
  • You are in constant communication with colleagues and act as an interface to the Product Management of the Business Unit Chemicals as well as to the internal service departments.
  • In this function you are also in charge of the cooperation with suppliers, warehouses, customers and logistic service providers of HELM AG. You will also be visiting these partners on short business trips.
  • Moreover, you will be taking over administrative tasks such as the preparation and execution of monthly and annual financial statements or the processing of insurance claims.
  • You are a team player and like to contribute to project work for the further development of the business unit.

 

 

Your profile:

 

  • You have completed vocational training as a shipping clerk or have a comparable degree with several years of professional experience in the field of chartering.
  • You have already acquired technical understanding and knowledge of transports by seagoing or barges in a similar task. Ideally, you are familiar with working with dangerous goods requirements.
  • You have a fluent command of written and spoken English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage.
  • You are proficient in common IT applications such as the MS Office package, ideally you have experience with SAP.
  • In the team you act as an open and team-oriented contact person. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and working on possible problems in a solution-oriented manner. In addition, you are flexible and can quickly adapt to new conditions.
