Product Development Coordinator
Objective
The Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing product development activities for crop protection solutions, including biological products (Plant Advantage), conventional pesticides, and specialty solutions.
The main objective of the role is to generate high-quality technical data through efficacy, phytotoxicity, residue, and field demonstration trials to support product registration, positioning, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
The role will also work cross-functionally with external research organizations and the Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams to ensure the successful development of the portfolio.
Activities
- Plan and coordinate the annual development trial program, aligned with business and portfolio objectives.
- Coordinate efficacy, phytotoxicity, crop safety, and product positioning trials across target crops and regions.
- Develop trial protocols and technical evaluation methodologies.
- Coordinate and supervise external research organizations (CROs), universities, and research institutes.
- Monitor trials and development projects, including visits to experimental sites.
- Analyze agronomic, biological, and technical data generated during trials.
- Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and support materials for different areas.
- Present trial results and project updates during technical and portfolio review meetings.
- Support product launches through technical training, demonstration plots, and customer-facing activities.
- Collaborate in the investigation and resolution of technical complaints related to product performance.
Responsibilities
- Execute the annual trial program through external research organizations, ensuring compliance with established budgets, protocols, and timelines.
- Manage and monitor the annual R&D budget assigned to Colombia, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of data generated throughout the development process.
- Ensure the timely follow-up, completion, and reporting of assigned R&D projects and field evaluations.
- Generate technical data and recommendations that contribute to product registration, positioning, and commercialization strategies.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs in generating data to support product registrations and label extensions.
- Work closely with Marketing and Sales to develop technical positioning strategies.
- Provide technical support to Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management teams.
- Contribute to portfolio management decisions through recommendations supported by scientific and technical data.
- Participate in regional and global development projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Biology, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in crop protection, agronomic research, or field trials.
- Knowledge of efficacy, phytotoxicity, crop safety, and data analysis.
- Experience coordinating research organizations, universities, or research institutes.
- Knowledge of agricultural trial methodologies and protocols.
- Ability to manage and monitor assigned resources and ensure proper use of the allocated budget.
- Experience with biological products, conventional pesticides, or crop protection solutions is desirable.
- Intermediate or advanced level of English.
